Technology Platform to Optimize Client Investments

Challenge

Fingage® is a fintech platform designed to empower Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) with advanced tools for managing and scaling their investment workflows. While the platform offered a comprehensive suite of features, one of the primary challenges was the inefficient process of generating PDF reports. These reports, including performance reports, progress reports, account holdings, and more, required separate code for each type of export, leading to redundancy, increased development time, and potential inconsistencies. Additionally, these reports featured graphical data representations in the form of graphs and charts, adding to the complexity.

Solution

To address this challenge, our team at Zorbix Technologies implemented a dynamic PDF generation mechanism. This solution allowed for the seamless export of various reports without the need for separate code for each type. By leveraging a combination of ReactJS, Typescript, Styled Components, Node.js, and ExpressJS, we created a streamlined process that dynamically handled different report types and their graphical data representations. This not only improved efficiency but also ensured consistency across all generated reports.

Process

1. Requirement Refinement: We collaborated closely with the Fingage team to refine the project requirements, ensuring that the solution would meet their specific needs.
2. UI/UX Design: We translated intricate business logic into intuitive UI/UX designs, ensuring that the platform remained user-friendly while incorporating the new PDF generation features.
3. Development: Our development team built responsive and dynamic frontend components using ReactJS and Styled Components. On the backend, we utilized Node.js and ExpressJS to create a robust and scalable PDF generation process.
4. Testing and Debugging: We conducted rigorous testing and debugging to resolve any UI inconsistencies and ensure cross-browser compatibility. We also addressed and fixed any bugs that arose during production, ensuring a smooth and reliable user experience.

Results

The implementation of the dynamic PDF generation mechanism significantly improved the efficiency and scalability of the Fingage platform. By eliminating the need for separate code for each report type, we reduced development time and minimized potential errors.
